Gesneriaceae Plants in Florescence
Cultivated in the GCCC and/or Wild Flowering Species by Month May 2013

In May, the flowering Gesneriad plants of South China will paint rock faces of those cliffs or caves of mountainous regions, e.g. limestone, sandstone, shale, etc, as many colorful drawings. White flowers of Primulina mabaensis, dark purple flowers of Primulina cyrtocarpa, pink flowers of P. gueilinensis var. dolichotricha, etc, so many different pattern and different formative Gesneriad flowers that even we have trouble keeping track.

1. Petrocodon Hance sp
Photo by Dr. Wen Fang, cultivated by Mr. Bo Pan from GCCC

This species was collected by Mr. Bo Pan from Hunan Province in 2011. It looks similar to Petrocodon coriaceifolius (Y.G.Wei) Y.G.Wei & Mich.Möller (=Lagarosolen coriaceifolium Y.G. Wei), but actually it is another unknown one. More researches need to do in the near future. The flowers of this unknown species looks very smaller than Petrocodon coriaceifolius, so could we name it as P. parviflorus Bo Pan & Fang Wen.
