Field Investigations December 2012
No. 1 This unidentified species may be new to science, a species of Primulina in Lianzhou, Guangdong. Some thought that it is Chirita sinensis Lindl. (=Primulina dryas (Dunn) Mich. Möller & A. Weber), but I don't think so. It grows deep inside of caves and can tolerate extreme shade.

No. 2 One species might just be a natural hybrid of the above-mentioned Chirita hedyotidea (Chun) W.T. Wang (= Primulina hedyotidea (Chun) Y.Z. Wang), and P. longgangensis (W.T. Wang) Y.Z. Wang, in Daxin County, Guangxi. All characteristics are identified from the two parents. We temporarily named it as P. × parahedyotidea.

This is the natural hybrid of Primulina hedyotidea and P. longgangensis. The left is P. hedyotidea, and the right is P. longgangensis.
